For many years I thought I'd like to volunteer to work with animals. Then in 2010 as I was exploring options on doing more with my photography I spoke with the folks at H.E.L.P. [Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets] about volunteering my photography services to do adoption photos of their cats and dogs. HELP is a great group - they are a non-profit rescue group that pull cats and dogs from high kill shelters, they take strays and abandoned animals and foster them in the volunteers homes.
The path to finding a special cat or dog to bring in a family most often starts with looking at the photos of who is available for adoption on the rescue's website or places like Pet Finder. If the potential adopter sees a photo that where the animal speaks to them... Well then do you believe in happy endings? I do.
