Meeting Santa

Family Portraits & a Good Cause

On Saturday November 19 the Hotshots photography club for held our 2nd annual Photo Paws and Family Tails photo event.  Not your typical photos with Santa – we offered studio quality portraits for families and their pets to celebrate that special bond between fur-baby and family and help to raise money for Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets (H.E.L.P.).

H.E.L.P. is an all-volunteer organization that rescues stray and abandoned cats and dogs, providing medical care and shelter until the animals are adopted into loving homes. H.E.L.P. is not an animal shelter; the animals live in volunteers’ homes. Each dog or cat is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and microchipped.   All proceeds from the photo paws event went to H.E.L.P. to directly support the animals.

2nd Year and Running

This is the 2nd year that we’ve held this fund raiser.   It was a very good day.   Waiting and ready for our furry visitors we had photographers; Brian, Rob, Claudia, Don, Kim & Karen.   And the many volunteers from H.E.L.P. were the guide elves to shepard our visitors through the pole to Santa and frosty .  We had 24 families come in; some to see Santa and ask for the latest cool toy.

Santa I really want that new squeaky toy that looks like a hamburger

While others were more interested in hanging with frosty in his winter wonderland

Me, my little brother and frosty - How Cool is that!

And A few were just wanted to hang with the photographers and get a non-holiday portrait done.

I'm ready for my close-up.

Just look cool!

WHO IS THIS GUY?

As in any event of this type there are always a few youngsters that who don’t know the big red guy and are completely freaked out.   But we humans just laugh and try to get them to relax – fat chance on the relax part when you’re a cat.

Who is that???? I don't know you! Get me out of here! MOMMMMMM

and eventually … sometimes curiousity wins out

I'm ok... I'm ok... Hey what's that?

Hi

Thank you Mom!

After a long day

Santa had his list….

Checking the list twice

our fur friends had had their close-ups and H.E.L.P. had a bit more funding for food and medical care for the cats and dogs under their care. All in all it was a very good day.
